Senior pictures are a fun experience to capture a glimpse of who you've become over the last 13 years. I enjoy the challenge of developing a portrait session that reflects a bit of your personality, a bit of your high school wardrobe and your current hairstyle. For Dylan's main senior picture session, we started out with a summer shoot and took his senior photos at a location that worked for both casual and semi-casual outfits.
However, golf has also played a huge part of Dylan's high school experience. Some might think this is a sport of luck. However, Dylan has spent hours and hours on the golf courses. He has been practicing, playing for fun and competing in tournaments. As a result, he was a part of his High School golf team that won the school state championship for the first time ever. This sport is definitely not one of luck!
So to capture a piece of Dylan's golf personality, we met in the fall at a favorite golf course for an add-on photo session. He immediately began to swing his club. And because sometimes senior pictures mean more to mom than the senior, his mom promised some golf time after senior pictures were finished. I can relate to this positive reinforcement (also known as a bribe.) I've used it many times with my two seniors!
The beautiful golf course, the perfect weather, the golf swings, the golf attire and a few casual clothing shots were all captured for Dylan. I mean, his mom. And the final prints and products from his golf photo session will be around to enjoy for generations to come.
Capturing a glimpse into Dylan's high school senior year is what I love about being a photographer. I have the privilege of freezing a small "slice" in time and turning it into a luxury heirloom album and quality prints that will be looked at and enjoyed long after I (the photographer) am forgotten. And that gives me great joy.
